The government aims to develop a local digital industry and the development of "made in Cameroon" applications. The startup ecosystem is very dynamic and benefits from state support. In this sense, the Cameron Digital Innovation Center (CDIC) was created, a national incubator to support the development of the local digital entrepreneurship ecosystem and accelerate digital transformation. The KmerTech association, a Cameroonian network of support structures for innovative entrepreneurship, structures and federates more than 40 private incubators and accelerators with the support of the European Union. Telecommunications operators are key players in this drive, covering 65% of the territory with a 3G\/4G network in 2020 (100% in Yaound\u00e9 and Douala) and becoming players in the digital transformation with the integration of value-added services (professional solutions, Cloud, SAAS). In terms of infrastructure, the country has six data centers (Orange, MTN, Camtel, Campost, ST Digital, CDIC) and a 25,000 km fiber optic network. The digital transformation market was estimated at around \u20ac2.9 billion and represented 6% of GDP in 2019. With the digitalization of businesses, more than 40% of the budget of government and service companies is devoted to IT solutions.<\/p>\n

The health crisis has heightened interest in digital solutions and accelerated digital transformation programs for businesses, public services, and the general public. In 2021, the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications signed two agreements, respectively, between the NGO Digital Transformation Alliance (DTA) and the start-up villab-hub, which specializes in artificial business intelligence and technological innovation focused on drone manufacturing.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The enterprise software market in Cameroon is estimated to be worth \u20ac35 million in 2021. The market is expected to grow by \u20ac10,051 million annually through 2025, reaching approximately \u20ac51 million.\u00a0<\/p>\n
